Further woe for injury-beset Fingal

>> Mon 8th Dec 08

Threadbare Fingal's fall from the top of the Leinster hockey table picked up momentum as they were well beaten 5-1 by Glenanne in Tallaght yesterday.

The Airport side arrived two players short of a full squad for the game after Conor Connolly and Paddy Gahan picked up injuries in Saturday's 4-3 win over Railway Union.

In contrast, the Glens appeared fresh despite their exertions the previous day in the 2-2 draw with league leading Three Rock Rovers.

In women's hockey, Loreto notched the maximum three points in Saturday's 3-0 win over Old Alex, and picking up another point in yesterday's 0-0 draw with holders Hermes.
